Raymond Bridges was arrested this week following a complaint from the owner of Jelliff Corp. on Pequot Avenue, who reported that a set of keys from one of his employees had gone missing.
While investigating the stolen keys, Bridges was caught on surveillance cameras walking through the factory shortly after the keys were reported missing, police said. Investigators eventually tracked down Bridges - who did not work at the factory - in a car on Arctic Street with the stolen keys.
According to police, investigators found that Bridges also matched the description of a man wanted for a burglary of nearly $300 from a cash register at Fairfield Cigars on Post Road. Bridges reportedly entered the store while the owner was unavailable and stole from the register.
Bridges was arrested and charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny and one count each of third-degree burglary and criminal trespass. He’s being held in lieu of $20,000 bond. Bridges is scheduled to appear back in court on Thursday, May 16 to respond to the charges.
